Music, memories and the stories behind the records that shaped us
The Friday Vinyl Club Podcast began the way the best things do, quietly, without a grand plan and entirely out of love.
Jamie has been shaped by music his whole life. Growing up, it was always there — in the wider family, on the radio, on long car journeys with someone always turning it up when the right song came on. Nobody sat him down and said "this matters." They just played the music.
Then came Emma, who felt exactly the same way. Two people quietly shaped by music their whole lives, falling in love over the same songs and the same records.
And then Ollie. Who didn't just inherit the love of music, he made it his own. These days he passes records back to Jamie. Artists he thinks Papa needs to hear. Half the recent discoveries on this podcast started with Ollie.
That's what this podcast is really about. Music passed down. Music passed back. And the stories that live inside every record we've ever loved.
Every other Friday we sit down to chat, sometimes just the three of us, sometimes with a guest who loves music as deeply as we do and we talk about the records that shaped us. Not to review them. Not to rank them. But to remember what they meant, and why certain songs never really leave you.
Pull up a chair. You're very welcome here. 💙
